Waking up for four days on the Atlantic was so relaxing and peaceful. I keep traveling back to the memory and creating a perfect meditative place. I find it is a necessity to create a calming place to escape the increasing toxicity of our world. A few moments of peace and I am ready to face the next hurdle.
I had the opportunity to camp on Long Key last March. Nothing beats a tent on the Atlantic. Strolls along the shore introduced me to loads of hermit crabs, man-o-war, gulls, herons, pelicans, oysters, horseshoe crabs, and a canoe trip where I saw a sea turtle. I was so excited about the turtle I almost tipped and neglected to identify the species.
This is the first in my new series, “A Walk Along the Shore.” In this series I hope to share a love and fascination with everything ocean. Included will be graphite drawings and mixed media paintings. I draw from my 35 year love affair with marine life and countless visits to beaches throughout Florida.
Walk with me, won’t you?
peace and love,
